As the SIF’s longest serving overseas representative since 2012, Mochammad Nunung Kurniawan (Iwan) plays an essential role in enabling collaborations between the SIF, the SIF-ASEAN Indonesian Fellows, and the Indonesia Bright Foundation (IBF). Founded by 135 SIF-ASEAN Indonesian Fellows, the IBF supports bright but financially-challenged Indonesian students and helps them achieve their academic potential through education sponsorship. Iwan has been instrumental in driving IBF’s impactful initiatives such as study trips and has also supported all the SIF Connects! events in Indonesia.

Since participating in the SIF-ASEAN Student Fellowship programme in 2000, Taweesak Kritjaroen (P’Tao) has actively promoted Singapore as the go-to destination for study visits. During SIF Connects! Singapore in 2013 and 2015, the university lecturer organised study trips for groups of postgraduate students from King Mongkut's University of Technology Thonburi – they were so well received that the study visit has since been institutionalised.
